Meaning in life is strongly linked to many of our psychological issues and questions. A lack of meaning creates emptiness within us and decreases our vitality and life force as well as our general sense of direction in life.

But how can we tap into our personal meaning? Should we invent it? Or is it there, waiting somewhere for us and we only need to better listen? Is there one big meaning? Is there an individual soul meaning?

In other words, how can meaning change our lives?  

In these two-days seminar, Psychologist and speaker Dr. Itai Ivzan and spiritual teacher and author Shai Tubali, collaborate to take you to a journey into the meaning of your life. Learning how to get in touch with it, acquiring tools to listen and define it. Look for a higher meaning both of our individual soul and universal soul. And find out how meaning in life can simultaneously heal our hearts wounds and pains and elevate us to a higher levels of consciousness and spirituality.

About the leaders of the seminar:

Dr. Itai Ivtzan is a positive psychologist, a senior lecturer in the positive psychology department – MAPP (Masters in Applied Positive Psychology) at the University Of East London (UEL). As well as an author of several books in the field. Dr. Ivtzan is a psychotherapist as well, an expert that connects brings together meaning and therapy to enable deep self-fulfillment.

Shai Tubali is a highly active spiritual teacher has  guided thousands of people through seminars, lectures, courses, schools and retreats in Europe, Israel, and India in the last 16 years. As well as an author of 21 books in the subjects of philosophy, psychology, and of course spiritual transformation and self-development methods. He is the developer of several methods of spiritual therapy and awakening. Among them: the “White Light Expansion” and “Power Psychology”.

Shai defines his spiritual teaching as a teaching of meaning. One that put at the center the universal meaning and purpose of human life.

Yoga is a practice that invites us to achieve psychological and spiritual transformation through what Patanjali called the Eight Limbs of Yoga: the yamas/ethical guidelines, the niyamas/self-discipline & self-study, asana/physical practice, pranayama/breath work, pratyahara/bringing awareness inward, dharana/concentration, dyana/meditation, Samadhi/enlightenment.

Drawing from his best-selling book “Awareness is Freedom”, renowned Positive Psychologist Dr. Ivtzan explains how we can enhance our Yoga practice, and our lives, by translating the Eight Limbs of Yoga into user-friendly exercises from the Science of Well-being, Positive Psychology, in order to achieve a lasting positive transformation.

Saturday will focus on our emotions, as they are the one single force that guides our lives and controls us from within. What exactly are our positive emotions? Positive Psychology defines 11 states of positivity. After introducing us to our positive emotions and the concept of broaden-and-build (how to create more positive emotions in our lives), the workshop will focus on gratitude, self-compassion, mindful self-awareness and savoring (enjoying positive states for as long as possible) and how to use your yoga practice to foster these positive states.

The workshop includes exercises from the Science of Well-being, a 75-min Mindful Vinyasa Flow that allows you to immediately incorporate what you have learnt into your asana practice, and wraps up with a 45-min Mindfulness meditation on gratitude, self-compassion and savoring.

‘Embracing the Dark Side – How to navigate through difficult emotions’

We all try to avoid our difficult emotions, we even call them negative emotions. But what would happen if we looked at them from a different perspective? What would happen if we saw them as our best friends that try to help us navigate through life, making our lives richer and fuller in the process?

In this workshop Dr. Ivtzan introduces us to the upside of our dark side, teaching exercises from Positive Psychology on how to make the best of your negative emotions and takes us through a meditative journey to befriend our dark side. The workshop wraps up with a 60-min yin practice, allowing you to apply what you have learnt into your yoga practice

Guided Meditations

What happens when meditation and spirituality meet positive psychology in a retreat weekend? The answer is fun-filled personal transformation. In this retreat I am going to bring together the disciplines I truly love:

  1. Meditation and spiritual practices: Would allow us to move inside and increase self-awareness. We explore unique meditation techniques such as “Awareness & Acceptance meditation” and “Intention Meditation” while practicing some of the classics such as the “Loving Kindness Meditation” and “Body-Scan Meditation”. We will also explore some movement-based spiritual exercises. My vision is to use these practices in order to shake our internal carpet that is covering what’s moving inside – to see what would we find under the carpet. Perhaps there are gems you would like to embrace consciously and enjoy. And perhaps there is old dust that has been left there long ago and it is now time for you to let it fly away. Whatever you find, it would be important for you to realise and explore.
  1. Positive Psychology: Would allow us to utilise the wonderful insights from our meditative and spiritual practice and offer ourselves positive change. We will work on finding deeper meaning and purpose in life, increasing our experience of savouring and joy, and deepening sense of self-acceptance and self-compassion. My intention is for you to take the insights from the meditative and spiritual practice through the processing of positive psychology exercises; the result would be transformative.

Venue: Claridge House is a unique building, set in extensive grounds, surrounded by a beautiful and peaceful area for you to walk and meditate.
